Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) will be submitting a planning application to the Highland Council for a new 275kV/220kV Substation in Dounreay, situated to the west of the existing Dounreay Substation.


The new substation is required in order to provide a new transmission subsea connection to the Orkney Islands. SSEN would like to extend an invitation to local members of the community and interested parties to attend an exhibition to discuss our plans with the project team and let SSEN know their views on our proposal.
