We're here to lend a helping hand

At SSEN Transmission, we are committed to supporting the communities in the north of Scotland where we operate, both now and in the future. As part of our ongoing efforts to make a difference and have a positive impact on local communities, we are proud to offer volunteering days to local groups and charities, particularly in the areas that host our electricity infrastructure or where our proposed projects are located. This commitment aligns with our broader Sustainability Strategy, which aims to deliver a network for net zero in a just and sustainable way, and to leave a legacy of thriving people and places.

We offer volunteering days to support local communities

SSE Group employees volunteer right across Great Britain, and people from all areas are welcome to apply. At SSEN Transmission, we are particularly keen to focus our efforts in the following areas:

  • Aberdeenshire
  • Angus
  • Argyll and Bute
  • Highland
  • Moray
  • Orkney
  • Perthshire
  • Shetland
  • Western Isles

Why we volunteer

Simply put, we believe in being an active and supportive part of the communities we serve. We are particularly keen to offer skilled volunteering, where our team can lend their expertise to local initiatives. This could include offering professional advice, social media guidance, or creating content for websites or marketing materials. We are also happy to help with business planning, or to support sustainability efforts.

We also offer opportunities for physical volunteering, such as participating in beach cleans, tree planting, or community gardening, contributing to the well-being of the local environment.

How to request volunteering support

If you're part of a local community group or charity that could benefit from our time and skills, we'd love to hear from you. To request our support, simply complete the ‘Volunteering Nomination Form’ linked below, hosted by SSE Group. It only takes a couple of minutes to get things moving, and once submitted, your request will go directly to the SSE Volunteering Team. We'll be in touch as soon as we can to discuss how we can help.
