SSEN Transmission is seeking views on its plans for new transformers at Lochay power station

SSEN Transmission is hosting an event in Killin on 9 May to share its plans for the replacement and relocation of its two transformers at Lochay power station, and is encouraging anyone with an interest in the project to come along to the event to find out more about the planned works.　　

The two existing transformers, which control and regulate the voltage of the electricity from the power station as it enters the transmission system, were installed in 1958 and are approaching the end of their scheduled operational capabilities; SSEN Transmission is looking to relocate their replacements adjacent to the power station.　　

As part of the proposed re-location process, SSEN Transmission will be submitting all relevant planning applications later this summer and next week’s pre-application consultation event will give the local communities the chance to share their views directly with members of the project team.　

Commenting on the consultation event, Louise Anderson, SSEN Transmission Community Liaison Manager, said:

"As a responsible developer we are committed to keep the local community updated on our proposals and where possible, factor in any feedback received.

"I’d encourage anyone who is interested in learning more about this essential work to come along, meet the team and ask any questions they may have."　

The pre-application consultation is being held in McLaren Hall, Main Street, Killin on 9 May between 2-7pm.
