SSEN Transmission invites you to share your feedback on its proposals to connect Sallachy Windfarm

On 15 December SSEN Transmission will host two online consultation events to engage with the stakeholders on its plans to provide a connection for Sallachy wind farm on Sallachy Estate, Lairg, Sutherland

The consultation events will present the preferred route and proposed technology for a new overhead line which will run for 7km from between the proposed Sallachy substation and the existing Cassley substation and seek feedback on this to help inform a more detailed route and alignment study.

To facilitate the consultation events SSEN Transmission has developed an online consultation tool, to enable the local community to experience the full exhibition from home on a computer, tablet or mobile device, whilst maintaining Government guidance on social distancing. The online exhibition has been designed to look and feel like a real consultation in a community hall, with exhibition boards, maps, and the opportunity to share views on the proposals.

Project Manager Derek Hearns said: “We are relatively early on in the development of the project and as a responsible developer we are keen to work closely with the local community to consider their views

“We encourage anyone who might be interested in our proposals to join the virtual consultations where you will be able to engage directly with our project team, via a live chat function, where they can ask any questions they might have about the project and share their feedback on the current proposals.”

“In addition to the virtual consultation platform the project team will be available to engage via email, telephone and online meetings, to ensure stakeholders can engage in a manner most suitable to them.”

The virtual consultation events will be taking place as follows:

15 December 2020: 14:00 - 16:00

15 December 2020: 18:00 - 19:30
