SSEN Transmission thanked everyone who took the time to attend their Argyll 275kv Strategy virtual consultation events earlier this month and is encouraging anyone still interested in sharing their feedback to join the next consultation event on Thursday 29th July 2021, 10am-1pm & 5-7pm.

The virtual event platform can be viewed at any time and includes exhibition boards, maps, videos, and an interactive 3D model which allows the visitor to view visualisations of the proposals at a number of vantage points along the route.

The virtual consultation presents proposals for the three elements of the Argyll and Kintyre 275kV Strategy; Creag Dhubh to Dalmally 275kV Connection, the newly proposed Creag Dhubh to Inveraray 275kV Overhead Line, and the Argyll and Kintyre 275kV Substations project.

The Argyll and Kintyre 275kV Strategy will increase the capacity of the electricity transmission network across the region, which is required to enable the connection of new renewable generation to the grid and support the transition to net-zero emissions.

Commenting on the events, Paul McQuillan Project Manager, said:

“We would like to thank everyone who has already provided their feedback during our consultation events, these comments will be essential in the next stage of the project’s development.

“As a responsible developer, we are keen to continue to work closely with the local community to develop these important projects. The consultation is open until 13th August, so we encourage anyone who might be interested in our proposals to visit the webpage, to view our plans and share their feedback.”
