SSEN Transmission invites you to share your feedback on its proposals to connect Elchies wind farm
Following consultation events in June last year, SSEN Transmission is seeking feedback from the local community and wider stakeholders on its advanced proposals to provide a connection for Elchies wind farm, which is located approximately 23km south-west of Blackhillock in Morayshire.
As the electricity transmission network owner for the north of Scotland, SSEN Transmission is legally obliged to provide connections to electricity generators looking to connect to the electricity transmission network.
To facilitate the connection of Elchies wind farm to the GB grid SSEN Transmission is proposing to construct a new 23km 132kv single circuit wood pole overhead line between the Elchies and Blackhillock substations. Incorporating the feedback received on the preferred route presented in June 2020, SSEN Transmission is now seeking feedback on the preferred alignment and technology for the new connection.
Commenting on the events, Project Manager Calum Grant, said:
“We would like to thank all those who responded to our consultation in June last year, the feedback received has helped to shape the alignment and technology selection we are now presenting. As a responsible developer, we are keen to continue to work closely with the local community to finalise plans for this new connection.
“We encourage anyone who has an interest in the project to come along to one of our face to face or virtual consultation events, meet the team and share their feedback in advance of submitting our Section 37 planning application next year.”
The consultation events will be taking place as follows:
- 28 September, Boharm Public Hall Mulben, 14:00 – 19:00
- 29 September, The Grant Hall Rothes, 14:00 – 19:00
