SSEN Transmission response to Ofgem’s Future System and Network Regulation (FSNR) framework decision

“We welcome the publication of Ofgem’s decision on the Future System and Network Regulation (FSNR) framework which is an important first step in the next price control review process, which for electricity transmission will begin in April 2026.

“It is crucial that the future regulatory framework builds on the significant progress the industry continues to make in decarbonising our electricity system, providing the flexibility and agility required to deliver the unprecedented level of investment in infrastructure required to secure the country’s future energy independence and fully decarbonise our economy, as we continue to work towards net zero.

“As we continue to assess the detail of today’s publication, we look forward to working constructively with Ofgem and wider stakeholders through the development of the Sector Specific Methodology to ensure the future regulatory framework delivers against our national endeavour to build a cleaner, more secure and affordable energy system for homes and businesses across Scotland and Great Britain.”
