SSEN Transmission Wins Prestigious Award at The 5% Club UK National Employer “Earn & Learn” Awards

SSEN Transmission has been recognised for its outstanding commitment to nurturing emerging talent, winning the Quality Award at The 5% Club’s UK National Employer “Earn & Learn” Awards.

The ceremony took place at Mansion House, London, on 5 December 2024, bringing together over 500 emerging talent leaders to celebrate organisations that excel in championing “Earn and Learn” opportunities such as apprenticeships and graduate schemes.  

The Quality Award, sponsored by On The Tools, was shared between SSEN Transmission in the Large Employer category and AD Construction in the SME category. This award celebrates the commitment of both organisations to providing high-quality training and creating meaningful opportunities for career development. 

The awards, derived from The 5% Club’s rigorous Employer Audit research, highlight excellence in championing earn-and-learn opportunities across diverse sectors.  

The award builds on the Platinum Award which was presented to SSEN Transmission in November recognising its significant contribution to the development of its employees.

With responsibility for the high-voltage electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland, the company aims to have at least 5% of all employees across the business in ‘earn and learn’ roles, from apprenticeships to graduate placements.   

The 5% Club represents a powerful movement of companies working together to make workplace training more inclusive, diverse, and accessible. Collectively, members support 1.9 million employees, with more than 108,000 individuals participating in earn and learn schemes.
