Volunteering at SSEN Transmission: Making it easier to get a helping hand

At SSEN Transmission, we are committed to supporting the communities where we live and work. Volunteering is a key part of that commitment, and we’ve made it even easier for local charities, community groups, and organisations to request our help. Through our new, simplified process on the SSEN Transmission website, it’s now quicker than ever to submit a volunteering request and get matched with relevant members of our team. 

Our employees are passionate about giving back, whether it's offering physical support through activities like beach cleans, tree planting, community gardening, or providing skilled volunteering to assist with local projects. Our new webpage and online ‘Volunteering Nomination Form’ streamlines the process, allowing you to submit requests in just a few minutes. Once submitted, the request is directed straight to our team, who will be in touch to coordinate the next steps. 

Shaun Hodge, Product Owner at SSEN Transmission and leader of the team behind the changes, explained: 
“By using digital technology like our website, we can improve how the public access our services and information. This is something that extends to volunteering as well. Simplifying the process makes it easier for community groups to connect with us and ensures we can support through volunteering more effectively and efficiently than ever before.”
